At its core, SEDEMAC is the coming together of talented engineers with the zeal for
development and large scale deployment of innovative control technologies. They started
as a small lab-based enterprise on the campus of the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay
and have now grown into a high volume supplier of critical controllers/ECUs that incorporate
their novel motor and engine control technologies.
The company’s technologies have been deployed on millions of vehicles and hundreds of
thousands of generators. Their current big technology bet is around sensorless motor control.
Their mission is to accelerate high volume deployment of this novel technology for control of
100s of millions/billions of motors/electric machines over the next decade.
Sedemac started as a small lab-based enterprise has now grown into a company that
supplies/licenses unique control products to leading manufacturers such as Mahindra,
Kirloskar, Ashok Leyland, TATA Motors, TVS Motor, Hero Motocorp etc
SEDEMAC is a technology company that offers novel motor & engine controls for high
volume implementation. Markets of immediate interest to us include motorcycles & scooters,
powered equipment, power generators, automotive and e-bicycles.
The Requirements
SEDEMAC has a comprehensive facility that revolves around intensive R&D as its fulcrum with
100+ engineers but also lays equal emphasis on engineering, testing, manufacturing, supply
chain organization, and quality assurance.
Sedemac IT Team has already implemented Atlassian products on their production server.
The products they were using are JIRA Software, Confluence, and Bitbucket and has been
using it for close to two years. Sedemac had multiple requirements when they approached enreap. The requirements
they had are as follows:
On their Confluence instance, the Sedemac team was not able to use the Confluence backup feature
Sedemac also wanted to migrate Bitbucket data from MY-SQL database to MS- SQL database
Sedemac wanted to upgrade their Atlassian products to the latest version - 1. Jira Software 2. Confluence 3. Bitbucket
After analyzing all the internal processes, we found that Sedemac had all the products
installed but not maintained in a standard way. As a result, enreap suggested they should follow the
best practices which will be beneficial to them to maintain their production servers in future.
Considering the requirements Sedemac and enreap came up with a solution for each of
their requirements.
We created a database schema via Confluence import, migrated all data from H2 DB to MS-SQL server. Created a backup of our Confluence environment after the schemaless migration was successful
As Sedemac had the requirement to change their external database, enreap successfully migrated Sedemac’s data from MY-SQL database to MS-SQL database for their Bitbucket production instance
enreap also upgraded Sedemac’s Atlassian suite to the latest version. We set up the UAT environment for each instance so that clients can use those products and acknowledge that everything is working fine
enreap performed the upgrade activity by following the standard stages recommended by Atlassian
After implementation of Atlassian product suite, Sedmac had an edge over their
processes as they were finally able to achieve desire business goals, including:
