The Solution
The enreap team followed a customized ‘6-Step Process’ to migrate the entire Jira instance from server to cloud:
In the assessment phase, the enreap experts made sure that the cloud is fit for the entire team to access Jira Instance and listed out the entire list of benefits post the migration.
The enreap experts listed out the entire migration strategy that we were going to adopt and the timelines against which we could check the progress of the migration.
To make sure that the data and the team are ready for the move, we performed regular healthchecks of existing server instances to make it more compatible for the cloud versions (Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket).
Performed a testing on the server to cloud migration by creating a staging environment to ensure that the issues related to data migration is resolved.
Performing complete production migration - the final step before moving to cloud.
The final stage included launching of the final instance (Jira, Confluence and BitBucket) and onboarding the new teams and users on the new application. Teams were given a complete walkthrough of the new instance with the final url of the instance.
